President Benigno S. Aquino III once again appealed to private individuals and companies to extend any amount of help to those affected by Typhoon ‘Pablo’ during the 15th Philippine Quality Award conferment ceremonies in Malacañang.
In his speech, the President said that the time is right for the people to perform their moral obligations and show the bayanihan spirit that is inherent in every Filipino.
“The awardees we have here today are being recognized for their excellence, and I know you will find it in your hearts to help those who were affected. There can be no truer measure of excellence than your willingness to act as good corporate citizens and truly help the Filipino people,” he said.
The Don Bosco Technical College, Lyceum of the Philippines University Batangas, Inc., Optodev, Inc., and Thomson Reuters Corporation Pte. Ltd. Philippine Branch received the PQA Recognition for Commitment to Quality Management while San Miguel Yamamura Asia Corporation received the Proficiency in Quality Management award.
President Aquino commended the awardees for proving that Filipino products and services can live on and flourish in the global arena. “Companies like you have done a lot for our people. You have invested in them; and you have given them the platform on which they can impress the whole world with their talents,” the Chief Executive said.
Institutionalized through Republic Act 9013 in 2001, the Philippine Quality Award is a national recognition granted to public and private organizations and other stakeholders who strive to attain performance excellence.
