President Benigno S. Aquino III leads the 115th celebration of the Philippine Independence at the Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila. The event will be highlighted by a simultaneous flag raising in the different cities in the country and a wreath laying at the monument of Philippine hero Gat Andres Bonifacio. He is also expected to deliver a speech.

After the event at the Liwasan, the traditional Vin d’ Honneur, a cocktail reception for the members of the diplomatic community, will also be held in Malacañang.

This year’s Independence Day theme is “Kalayaan 2013: Ambagan Tungo sa Malawakang Kaunlaran.”
