Inspection of Pasig-Marikina River

President Benigno S. Aquino III together with Public Works and Highways Sec. Rogelio Singson and Interior and Local Govt. Sec. Jesse Robredo, inspected the ongoing Pasig-Marikina River Channel Improvement Project. The tour started in Bahay Pangarap up to the Napindan Hydraulics Flood Control structure. It aims to increase the holding capacity of the Pasig River through dredging and dessilting. The government will complete the project within 2-3 years to end the perennial flooding in Metro Manila.

Inspection of Major Passenger Terminals in Metro Manila

President Benigno S. Aquino III together with Department of Transportation and Communication Secretary Mar Roxas led the inspection of the passenger terminal in North Harbor.
With the expected increase in the number of passengers bound for different places in the country, President Aquino inspected Pier 2 in the North Harbor and observed the security measures being implemented for the passengers. He also toured some major facilities in the terminal and observed its operation like x-ray machines, the passenger area and even the rest rooms. The President also went on board the ship and inspected its cabins and life saving devices, making sure that everything meets the standards for a safe and comfortable journey for travellers.
