President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo holds a working visit in Tokyo, where she meets with the Executive Committee and Executive Counselors of Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI), the Filipino community and top executives of various corporations in Japan.

She also holds a bilateral meeting with Japan Prime Minister Taro Aso, where the two leaders signs a joint statement for three Official Development Assistance (ODA) projects of Japan to the Philippines.

During the meeting of the International Friendship Exchange Council of Japan (FEC), President Arroyo speaks with the theme "Prospects for Japan-Cooperative Relationship and Challenges of Economic Integration in East Asia."

 

President Arroyo is also being received by Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko of Japan in the Imperial Palace. It is the third time that they receive the President during her administration.(SNN/RJU)
