May 14 – 15, 2009 ![]() President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo continues the country’s commitment to preserve nature as she goes international in protecting the marine resources and coral reefs in the country. In her scheduled visit, on the 14 – 15 of May, to Manado, North Sulawesi in Indonesia she attends the Coral Triangle Initiative (CTI) Summit with other leaders from Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Timor-Leste. These are member countries that have the same mutual interest in marine preservation and protection and of the coral reefs and marine ecology. President Arroyo gives her remarks and signs the adoption of the CTI Summit Leader’s Declaration.
The President also meets the Filipino Community of Manado and leads the ceremonial inauguration of the Tuna Processing plant of PT International Alliance Food Indonesia, a Filipino based company in the Philippines engaged in the business of processing, canning and export of canned tuna.
